Evdokia Makhonkova was born in 1870 in the village of Mogilnaya, Orenburg province (now the Chelyabinsk region). Having lost her mother early, Dunyushka experienced all the hardships of child orphanhood. It was then that with all her heart she surrendered to God, experiencing one desire - to remain the work of the Lord until the end of her days.
