Archpriest Ivan Vasilievich Khrustalev was born in the village of Bogorodskoye in the Serpukhov district of Moscow province in 1875 into the family of a deacon. He graduated from the Theological Seminary and, having taken the priesthood, served in the Church of the Mother of God in the village of Vladykino near Moscow. On November 19, 1937, the priest was arrested and on December 5 he was sentenced to capital punishment. On December 10, 1937, he was shot in Butovo
