Gelasius of Rymetsky (2nd half of the XIV century), Archbishop of Transylvanian, saint. The first known by his name primate of the Orthodox Church in Transylvania. A native of the Apusheni Mountains in Transylvania, he became an ascetic in the Rymets Valley from a young age, learning the art of fighting passions from local hermits. Having cleansed the heart and mind of evil thoughts and having been granted the gift of miracles, Hieroschemamonk Gelasius settled in the Rymetsky Monastery and eventually became its abbot.
