Hieromartyr Vladimir Chetverin was born in 1874, in the village of Barakhman-Gart, Ardatovsky district, Simbirsk province, into a simple, pious family. From his youth he loved the path of teaching and wished with all his heart to bring to people the light of Christ's faith. Initially, he was a teacher of a literacy school, then he spent seven years as a teacher of a parish school in the village of Kuneevo, Karsun district.
