Saint Theodotus (Bogdan) of Adrianople. Together with the martyr Maximus and the martyr Asklipiodotus, he lived during the time of the persecution of Christians by the cruel emperor Maximian Galerius. The name of this saint is translated from Greek as "Given by God", which corresponds to the Slavic name Bogdan. In Orthodoxy, there is no saint with the name Bogdan, therefore for men with this name one should turn to Saint Theodotus
