Hieromartyr Anatoly, Metropolitan of Odessa and Kherson (in the world Andrei Grigorievich Grisyuk) was born on August 20, 1880 in the city of Kovel, Volyn province, into the family of the district treasurer. From childhood, the boy got used to work, a simple way of life, since the family lived very poorly. Andrei had two more sisters: Raisa and Maria, who later largely shared his life trials.
