Father Alexy (Alexey Savelyevich Mogilnitsky) was born on October 17, 1870 in the city of Minsk in the family of the townspeople Savely and Herminia Fominichnaya Mogilnitsky. His father, a retired military man, was a provincial clerk. At the age of ten, Aleksey chooses the path of serving God and enters the Minsk Theological School, and then - the Minsk Theological Seminary.
