Born in September 12, 1877 in the village of Yasinya near Rakhov in the family of a lumberjack. The boy's parents, Ivan Kabalyuk and Anna Kulchitskaya, were pious Uniates-Russophiles and named their son in honor of the holy Prince Alexander Nevsky. He graduated from the parish school and entered the novice at the Greek Catholic monastery of Kish-Baranya
