The Fadeless Color is an icon of the Mother of God revered in Orthodox churches. The creation of the image dates back to the 17th century on Athos. The literary basis of the image is the texts of the Byzantine akathists, in which the Virgin Mary is compared with unfading and fragrant flowers.
