The Holy Martyr Photina was the very Samaritan woman with whom the Savior talked at the well of Jacob (John 4: 5–42). During the time of the emperor Nero (54 - 68), who displayed extreme cruelty in the struggle against Christianity, Saint Photina lived in Carthage with her youngest son Josiah and there fearlessly preached the Gospel. Her eldest son Victor fought bravely in the Roman army against the barbarians and for his merits was appointed a military leader in the city of Attalia
