Alexander of Rome is a Christian martyr who suffered at the beginning of the 4th century. Alexander was a soldier and served in Rome, in the regiment of the tribune of Tiberian. When the Roman emperor Maximian Hercules (284-305) issued an order by which he ordered citizens to make a sacrifice on a certain day in the temple of Zeus, the tribune Tiberian, having gathered his soldiers, gave them the order to go to this sacrifice, but Alexander refused to sacrifice to the pagan gods. Tiberian reported to Emperor Maximian that there was a Christian among his soldiers.
