Genealogy Sunday -
The icon inspired by some royal and Western models, representing Jesse lying on his side. In his left hand is writing, and a branch of Jesse’s trunk emerges from behind him. The trunk grows in a circular shape, wrapping around the Father of God, of the Eligican type, carrying the Savior of the World. On the green leaves are written the names of the fathers in Syriac, from Jesse and David to Joseph, the man of Mary, from whom Jesus was born.
